Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder Review
According to what the brand claims, Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder gives you up to 5 hours of natural shine control with natural minerals. It helps minimize the appearance of pores and is also dermatologically tested.
Features And Benefits
Controls oil and shine Leaves you with a fresh, natural finish Blurs out the appearance of pores Good for your skin Light mineral formula Dermatologist tested
Packaging
This pressed powder comes in a beige color round pan with a transparent lid. The details of the product are mentioned on the back. The packaging is so minimal and basic that it does not come with a mirror or an applicator – which is a major downside. It also feels very fragile, like it’s going to crack open if you drop it, and if you toss it in your bag, its cap will definitely come off.

My Experience With Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
With my combination skin type, it’s hard to keep shine and oil at bay, especially in my T-zone. I was very excited to try this powder as it claimed to give me “natural shine control with natural minerals”. I have light to medium skin tone, and I picked this up in my shade, which is ‘Silky Beige’. Let me give you the gist of all its features, and you’ll find out how this compact works. Here’s my experience with it!
Texture And Fragrance
This pressed powder is smooth and is tightly packed in its case. You don’t see any fallout when you use this with a brush. Even though its texture isn’t chalky, I’ll have to say, it’s not the silkiest either. It’s somewhere in the middle and is certainly a good bargain. Coming to the fragrance, it smells a little synthetic and artificial. However, the smell fades away in some time of application.
Coverage And Efficacy
This one’s majorly for setting your makeup, and it’s best if you don’t expect much out of the ‘coverage’ factor as it’s very sheer. The primary purpose of this compact is to cover faint redness, light acne scars, and discoloration, and this it does well. It left my face looking natural and also gave it a nice, even, matte effect. It feels very light on the skin and does not give you that dreaded cakey effect. It controls shine and keeps my T-zone matte for a good 3-4 hours, after which I need to re-touch.
Staying Power
I wasn’t very impressed with its staying power. It does the trick for about 3-4 hours and requires frequent touch-ups. It’s not the best compact to control oil during a hot summer day and is definitely hyped when it comes to this area.
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder Shades
This compact is available in seven shades for different skin tones and undertones.
Transparent
The shade ‘Transparent’ has a minimal yellow tint to it. It’s suitable for light skin tones with both pink and yellow undertones. Also, this shade is great for baking your face.
Natural
‘Natural’ is an extremely sheer shade. It’s perfect for light to medium skin tones, and it looks like you have nothing on. It effectively minimizes the appearance of pores and gives you a matte, radiant finish.
Sandstorm
This shade is for light to medium skin tones, and its mild yellow undertones blend well even with olive skin. It looks lighter in the pan, but once you go in with this and apply it on your face, it matches perfectly.
Silky Beige
‘Silky Beige’ is ideal for light to medium skin tones with warm undertones. It blends in beautifully and leaves you with a very natural finish.
Creamy Natural
This one’s a pale ivory shade that shows up upon application, but once it’s blended, it looks very natural. It’s suitable for fair skin tones and is pretty versatile as a color.
Buff Beige
‘Buff Beige’ goes with medium skin tones with warm undertones. It adds a natural flush of color to the face, leaving it looking fresh and radiant.
Nude Beige
For a skin tone that falls within an NC 30 and 35, this shade will be a perfect match. It’s made for medium to dark skin tones.
Creamy Beige
‘Creamy Beige’ is perfect for medium to dark and wheatish skin tones. It leaves you with a sheer to medium coverage, and it won’t give you that grey, washed-out look. Pros
Smooth texture The powder is finely milled Blends easily Lightweight No fallout Gives you a matte finish upon application Simple packaging Affordable
Cons
Frequent reapplication is required No sponge applicator or mirror Does not control oil for very long Its plastic cap isn’t sturdy, and there is no secure locking mechanism Enhances dry areas on the skin and is not suitable for dry skin types Not travel-friendly

How To Use Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder?
I use a buffer brush to apply this product, but you can also use a sponge or a powder puff (in case your skin is oily to very oily, a sponge works better to give you the desired matte effect). Shelf Life: 36 months
Will I Recommend This Product?
Yes, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly compact to provide sheer coverage and leave your skin looking fresh and radiant – the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder is an excellent bargain. It keeps my skin oil-free. Also, if you’re someone who wants to go for a natural-looking finish for daily wear, this may prove to be handy. I agree that the packaging isn’t ideal, but for the price, I really can’t complain. A pressed compact can do wonders for making your makeup last longer, so make sure you find one that works for your skin type. Those were my thoughts on the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. A little improvement on the lid-locking system and its packaging will make this a great product, but on the whole, it performs well on most fronts. Have you ever used this compact?
